About this course
The course examines modern Italian literature through close reading and analysis of texts, including work by contemporary authors. Learners also watch short videos in Italian, discuss topics connected with Italian society and culture, and consider relevant grammar rules and linguistic phenomena. Teaching includes group discussion, text-based analysis and regular tutor feedback. The course also explores authors’ work and wider aspects of Italian literature.

The course is intended for upper-intermediate to advanced Italian learners, corresponding broadly to learners developing beyond fundamental language skills. Participation includes reading texts in Italian, discussing ideas in a group and studying independently outside class.
