About this course

This course develops Italian for everyday communication through classroom interaction, role plays, group discussions and presentations. Learners work with vocabulary relating to homes, free time, holidays, clothing and health, while practising communication in present, past and future contexts. Reading activities focus on understanding Italian texts and pronunciation. Speaking and writing practice includes the present, past and imperfect tenses, with opportunities to discuss situations such as medical appointments and holiday planning. The course also explores intercultural awareness through comparisons between traditions.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have completed Post Beginners Stage 1 or an equivalent amount of study, around 90 hours. It involves regular participation in role plays, group discussions, classroom interactions and presentations, with progress reviewed through in-class activities.

• Regular attendance is advisable for developing language skills and maintaining progress.
