About this course

Using the Wine Scholar Guild curriculum, this masterclass examines how the history, geography, culture and terroir of Lombardia and Emilia Romagna have shaped their wines. The session includes a curated tasting covering Lombardia’s Franciacorta, Nebbiolo wines and Emilia Romagna’s Lambrusco, Sangiovese, Albana and Trebbiano-based whites. Tasting examples are used to explore the diversity of styles, regional traditions and winemaking approaches found across the two areas.

The session is listed for all levels and is presented as an introduction to these regions and to further Wine Scholar Guild study. It is not intended for people currently enrolled in the Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1 course. Learners who have completed that course may attend to revisit the tasting experience.
