About this course
This masterclass examines how Piemonte’s history, geography and culture have shaped its wine regions and styles. It forms the first part of a two-session focus on Piemonte within the Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1 curriculum. Teaching combines regional study with a curated tasting of Northern Piemonte wines, including Nebbiolo-based examples from Ghemme and Carema, Erbaluce di Caluso and other regional styles. Discussion considers the relationship between terroir, tradition and craftsmanship, while introducing the diversity of Piemonte’s grapes and appellations.
