About this course
This session focuses on Piemonte as part of the Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1 curriculum, examining how the region’s history, geography and culture have shaped its wine traditions and styles. It is the second of two sessions dedicated to Piemonte. Guided tasting covers Nebbiolo-based Barolo and Barbaresco, alongside Barbera, Dolcetto, Arneis and Gavi. The selection may also include Freisa and sparkling wines from Asti, providing comparisons across Piemonte’s red, white and sparkling wine styles.

The session is presented for learners at all levels who want an introduction to Piemonte wine and the Italian Wine Scholar curriculum. It is not suitable for people currently enrolled in the Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1 course. Those who have completed the course may attend to revisit the tasting.
