About this course
This introductory course develops basic spoken Japanese for everyday situations. Learners practise greetings, introductions, asking about places and opening times, shopping, prices, food and drinks, with language work on questions and positive or negative answers, numbers, time, names and colours. Teaching follows a communicative approach, combining speaking and listening practice with active interaction, pair and group work, role plays, pictures, realia and authentic material. Audio-visual techniques may also be used when appropriate. Cultural content considers aspects of life in Japan.
