Japanese Language for Travel

About this course

The course develops spoken Japanese for common travel situations, including greetings, hotel requests, ordering food, shopping, asking for directions and dealing with problems such as delays or lost items. Lessons use guided conversations, mini role-plays and realistic scenarios to practise responding in context. Teaching focuses mainly on speaking and listening, with romaji used to support communication. Learners also receive pronunciation guidance, high-frequency vocabulary and an introduction to recognising hiragana and katakana on signs, menus and tickets. Everyday politeness, service interactions and travel etiquette in Japan are included.
