About this course
The course develops spoken Japanese through group work, role-plays and discussion, with the teacher using Japanese throughout to provide listening and comprehension practice. Lessons also address grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, including structures for expressing wishes, describing causes, making comparisons and discussing changes over time. Participants discuss topics including mobile phones, social trends, impressions of Japan and possible future developments. Some lessons use accessible Japanese news materials, allowing learners to discuss current affairs, culture, the environment and entertainment while working with charts or graphs.

Listed as Advanced (C1+), this course is intended for learners who have already studied Japanese extensively and are progressing beyond earlier levels. Previous completion of Japanese Level 31 or study equivalent to at least 372 class hours is required. Participation includes regular spoken communication, group work, role-plays and discussion.
