About this course
Lessons are taught primarily in Japanese and combine spoken communication with group work and role-plays. Learners practise conversation in everyday and topic-based situations, alongside listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. The course also addresses Japanese pronunciation, rhythm, pace and intonation, including how these features convey meaning and emotion. Authentic materials include NHK’s News Web Easy articles, covering subjects such as current affairs, culture, environmental issues and entertainment.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for learners who have studied Japanese for a considerable period and want to move towards a more advanced level. Previous study of Japanese Level 37 or a comparable amount of learning is recommended, and a placement test is available if the level is uncertain.
