What Pre-intermediate (A2+) Japanese means
At A2+ Japanese, learners can connect simple sentences, give reasons and manage a wider range of familiar situations.

About this course
The workshop uses language-based games to practise everyday Japanese vocabulary and expressions, with activities covering listening, speaking and reading. Learners work individually, in pairs and in teams, taking part in challenges and friendly competitions conducted in Japanese. Reading tasks use game formats and include recognising basic Japanese characters in context. The course is taught in person through interactive activities rather than formal language exercises alone.

Is this course right for you?
The course is aimed at learners at pre-intermediate level who have completed around one or two years of Japanese study. Participation involves working individually and with others in pair and team games, challenges and competitions.
- Previous Japanese study is expected.
- Activities include pair work, team challenges and individual games.
