About this course

This sample lesson introduces basic spoken Japanese through greetings, self-introductions and exchanges of personal information. Learners practise asking and answering questions about details such as names, nationalities, professions, ages, telephone numbers and dates of birth. Teaching combines group activities and role-plays with structured work on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The teacher uses Japanese throughout, giving learners opportunities to develop listening and comprehension while participating in the lesson.
