About this course
Participants explore jazz singing through warm-ups, group activities and rehearsal of selected jazz standards. The course covers jazz rhythms, melodies, phrasing, swing, interpretation, call and response, harmonising and the blues scale. Teaching includes group singing and practical rehearsal, with opportunities for solo singing and vocal improvisation. Learners work towards performing pieces such as “Autumn Leaves” and “I Got Rhythm”, focusing on jazz style and musical expression.
