About this course
Learners explore enamelling on copper and silver to produce jewellery such as pendants, earrings and rings. The course covers cutting shapes, using opaque and transparent enamels, incorporating glass media and soldering silver and copper components. Teaching combines practical demonstrations, verbal instruction, feedback at different stages, one-to-one guidance and group discussion. Learners apply these techniques to develop samples and enamelled jewellery, with more technical skills introduced for advanced or experienced participants.

This is a mixed-ability class intended for learners at intermediate level, with more technical skills available to advanced or experienced participants. The work involves standing, sustained concentration, good eyesight, hand strength and manual dexterity, as well as understanding verbal instructions and using workshop equipment safely.
