About this course

The course introduces the stages of lost wax casting, from shaping jewellers’ wax models to producing silver jewellery. Participants begin with a set project to learn fundamental carving techniques and tool use, then develop their own designs with guidance tailored to their work. The course focuses on translating three-dimensional ideas into cast forms, with rings among the pieces commonly produced. Participants typically complete several individual silver jewellery pieces during the course.

What you'll learn

  • Apply basic carving techniques to jewellers’ wax
  • Use tools for shaping and refining wax jewellery models
  • Explain the main stages of the lost wax casting process
  • Develop jewellery designs suitable for casting in silver
  • Translate design ideas into finished cast jewellery pieces

Is this course right for you?
