About this course

Beginners work through introductory projects that familiarise them with commonly used jewellery tools, materials and processes. Learners with previous experience undertake a specialist technique project each term while also developing personal work. Teaching combines demonstrations, presentations, group discussion and one-to-one technical or critical guidance. Participants work at their own pace, agreeing individual learning goals with the tutor and recording and reviewing them through Learning Statements. Projects involve working with metals and other materials to produce finished jewellery.

What you'll learn

  • Apply jewellery-making techniques through structured technical projects
  • Select suitable tools, materials and processes for a specific piece of work
  • Use metals and other materials to create finished jewellery
  • Follow health and safety guidance in a shared workshop
