About this course

The course introduces liquid and powder enamels on copper, silver and steel, with demonstrations covering sifting, stencils, sgraffito, mark-making and other experimental approaches. Participants make samples after each demonstration, then use the techniques to develop simple jewellery pieces. Teaching combines tutor guidance, one-to-one support, group work, discussion, show and tell, and group critique. Further techniques include enamelling on altered surfaces, underfiring and using enamel transfers.
