About this course
The course examines how to plan finishing stages and refine jewellery through pre-polishing, final polishing, matt, satin and textured finishes. It covers identifying and treating fire scale and fire stain, as well as working carefully around gemstones and other delicate elements. Plating is introduced as a theoretical topic. Teaching combines demonstrations, short presentations, group discussion and one-to-one tutorials, with time to examine and work on pieces that are unfinished or need further refinement.

This improver-level course is intended for learners who already have a basic understanding of jewellery-making techniques. It is not suitable for beginners, and participation centres on bringing jewellery pieces to discuss and develop through group work and individual tutorials.

- Participants may bring their own tools if preferred.
