About this course

The class develops advanced jewellery-making practice through instruction in shaping, forming, soldering and welding. Alongside technical work, participants consider how design decisions affect the appearance and wearability of completed pieces. The course accommodates work with a range of jewellery materials, including base metals, silver, gold, gems and other precious elements. Health and safety is an important part of the teaching, particularly when using acids, saw blades, specialist machinery and soldering or welding processes.
