About this course
The course focuses on designing and making multi-strand necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Participants work with bead-stringing wire, cotton, silk, elastic and polyester threads, alongside techniques including knotting, Macramé, French Wire finishing and copper-wire manipulation. Demonstrations are supported by project sheets, individual guidance and group discussion about materials, tools, artists and sources of inspiration. Each session introduces two or three techniques for developing multi-strand jewellery pieces.
What you'll learn
- Construct multi-strand jewellery using bead-stringing wire.
- Apply knotting techniques, including decorative or fastening Macramé knots.
- Use French Wire to begin and finish knotted or strung jewellery.
- Select elastic thicknesses for making cuffs.
- Manipulate and twist different thicknesses of copper wire.
- Identify findings used in multi-strand jewellery.
