Jewellery On Saturdays (4 Weeks)

About this course

The course introduces core jewellery-making techniques including piercing, filing, drilling, texturing, annealing, forming, soldering and polishing. Beginners work through these foundations, while learners with more experience can develop existing skills, explore additional techniques and pursue individual projects. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, written handouts, group instruction and individual guidance. Participants have opportunities to practise techniques and receive support tailored to their project or stage of learning.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners at all levels. Beginners can work through fundamental jewellery-making techniques, while those with previous experience can extend their skills, learn new techniques and develop an individual project. Participation includes both group teaching and tutor guidance during individual practice.

Before you go

• All tools and equipment needed for jewellery making are supplied.
• Materials for the first session are provided. Participants need to supply their own metal and sundries, such as saw blades, for subsequent sessions.
• A sketchbook is encouraged for notes, handouts, images and designs.
• Closed shoes must be worn for health and safety reasons.
