About this course
The course develops existing Kathak technique through style-specific warm-ups, tutor-demonstrated movement patterns and repertoire combining varied footwork, rhythmic phrasing, dramatic movement and expression. Learners work with teentaal and ektaal, relating padanth recitation to tabla rhythms across different tempos. Sessions include regular tutor feedback, student exchange of ideas and self-assessment activities. The training places particular emphasis on accuracy and movement quality, with learners working towards presenting increasingly complex compositions.

- Execute single heel turns and two-step and four-step turns
- Perform teentaal footwork in single, double, triple and quadruple tempo
