What Beginner (A1) Korean means

At A1 Korean, learners are beginning to use familiar words and simple sentences in predictable everyday situations.

About this course

The course introduces Korean through the Hangeul alphabet, pronunciation, vocabulary and core grammar. Learners practise greetings, introductions, occupations and nationalities, including both informal and formal speech forms, while developing the use of topic and subject particles. Teaching focuses on spoken communication through group activities and role-plays. The teacher uses Korean throughout the lessons to develop listening and comprehension, alongside systematic work on sentence formation, pronunciation rules and cultural etiquette.
