What Upper Intermediate (B2) Korean means
At B2 Korean, learners can communicate fluently on concrete and abstract topics, develop arguments and respond in detail.
Support a viewpoint
이 정책은 초기 비용이 들겠지만 장기적으로는 지역사회 전체에 도움이 될 것입니다.
Although the policy would have an initial cost, it would benefit the whole community in the long term.
Discuss an abstract issue
기술은 소통을 편리하게 하지만 개인정보 보호에 관한 우려도 제기합니다.
Technology makes communication easier, but it also raises concerns about privacy.
Negotiate a solution
마감일을 일주일 연장하면 품질을 낮추지 않고도 예산을 지킬 수 있습니다.
If we extend the deadline by a week, we can keep the budget without reducing quality.
These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.
About this course
The course develops spoken Korean through group activities and role-plays focused on recommendations, reporting information and discussing conditions. Alongside communication practice, lessons examine grammar forms including 대요/래요, 을/ㄹ 만하다, 으려면/려면 and 아야/어야/여야, with vocabulary related to public relations. Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are studied systematically, while the teacher uses Korean throughout the lessons to support listening and comprehension. Course content draws on Sejong Korean Conversation Book 4, chapters 7 and 8, although teachers may use other resources.
