What Elementary (A2) Korean means

At A2 Korean, learners can handle simple routine exchanges and describe familiar aspects of everyday life.

  • Describe your routine

저는 보통 버스로 출근하고 여섯 시에 집에 와요.

I normally go to work by bus and return home at six.

  • Make a simple plan

토요일 오후에 같이 영화 보러 갈까요?

Shall we go to the cinema together on Saturday afternoon?

  • Talk about the recent past

    어제 친구들과 저녁을 먹고 산책했어요.

Yesterday I had dinner with friends and went for a walk.

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.

About this course

The course develops Korean for discussing places, locations and movement. Learners practise asking about destinations, describing where people or objects are, stating where they are going or coming from, and expressing existence or absence. Grammar work covers location particles such as N에 and N에서, negation with 안 V, and patterns including 여기가 N이에요/예요 and N에 있어요/없어요. Lessons use group activities and role-plays, with the teacher speaking Korean throughout to develop listening and comprehension. Vocabulary includes places and positional terms, alongside discussion of everyday cultural settings such as PC방, 찜질방, 노래방 and 인사동.

What you'll learn

  • Ask and answer questions about destinations and locations
  • Use the particles N에 and N에서 in location and movement contexts
