About this course
The course develops everyday Korean through spoken activities, group work and role-plays, alongside structured practice in grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Teaching takes place in Korean to support listening and comprehension. Topics include dates, past experiences, restaurant interactions, prices, quantities, time, age, food, money and daily life. Learners also study sentence patterns for sequencing actions, referring to time and place, and making polite commands, with an introduction to aspects of Korean food culture and traditional holidays.

Is this course right for you?
This Elementary (A2) course is intended for learners who have already studied some Korean or have a foundation in the language. The provider recommends having completed Korean Level 3 or a course of at least 36 class hours, and being able to recognise and confidently use Hangeul.
- Prior Korean study or an equivalent foundation is recommended
- Learners should be able to recognise and confidently use the Korean alphabet
- Participation includes group work and role-plays
- The teacher uses Korean throughout the course

- The recommended coursebook is Seoul National University Korean Book 1A, Korean alphabet edition, ISBN 978-8953949447. The course uses Units 5 and 6, Part 1, although not all activities may be covered.
