About this course
The course introduces knitting through a sequence of techniques, beginning with casting on, knit stitch and casting off before moving into knit and purl patterns, shaping, stripes, buttonholes and eyelets. Participants will also examine yarn and needle choices, pattern abbreviations, joining yarn, edge finishing and ways to correct mistakes such as ladders. In the later part of the course, these skills are brought together in a small project, such as a scarf, cushion cover or set of coasters.
