About this course

The course introduces Copperplate through its historical development and contemporary variations. Learners study letterforms using exemplars, then practise pressure control, spacing, rhythm and fluent pen movement through guided exercises. Tutor demonstrations are combined with individual feedback, allowing participants to review their work and develop a personal approach to modern Copperplate. Individual projects may include cards, monograms and books, with time for experimentation and further practice.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners aged 19 or over and is suitable for both beginners and improvers. No prior experience is required. Sessions combine guided group exercises with individual practice, feedback and project work, and can accommodate left- and right-handed participants.
