Improver

A Level 1 graphic design course for beginners covering core principles through analogue and digital projects, demonstrations, discussion and practical exercises.

About this course

Learners work through a main design brief covering graphic design elements, materials, terminology and the contexts that influence visual solutions. The course combines analogue methods, including experimental drawing and cut-and-paste collage, with digital techniques.

What you'll learn

  • Identify appropriate graphic design elements, materials, techniques and processes for a design brief.
  • Research visual sources and use them to develop alternative design ideas.
  • Respond to feedback and constraints by refining ideas through different working methods.
  • Plan and produce final design work using selected materials and techniques.
  • Review the stages and decisions involved in the design process.

Is this course right for you?
