Level 1 Photography Workshop

About this course

The workshop combines theory with substantial practical work to develop understanding of digital photography and camera operation. Participants examine how light is recorded, then work with file formats, resolution, lenses and focusing systems. Practical projects introduce manual exposure using ISO, shutter speed, aperture and the light meter, alongside evaluative, matrix and spot metering. The course also covers depth of field, freezing and blurring motion, panning, and picture controls for colour, black and white and sepia images.

• Use manual and autofocus options, including focus points and focus lock
• Select lenses and understand focal length, macro, prime and zoom functions
