About this course

This course introduces the principles and practice of improving energy efficiency in existing homes. It covers retrofit measures and techniques, green technologies, health and safety responsibilities, the regulatory framework for domestic energy efficiency, and basic installation methods. Teaching combines short lectures, workshops, demonstrations and practical exercises. Learners also use training rigs, an immersive classroom and VR sessions to explore retrofit applications. Assessment is through an online exam at the end of the course, leading to the qualification if passed.
