Level 2 English Skills

About this course

The course develops English for everyday and work-related situations through classroom teaching and activities, with online materials available for further study. Reading work includes skimming, scanning, detailed comprehension and extracting information from texts. Participants also practise presentations, discussions, expressing opinions and listening for specific details. Writing activities include articles, letters and blogs, with attention to handwriting and accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar. Progress is assessed through a tutor-marked folder of work and an Individual Learning Plan rather than an exam.

Is this course right for you?

The course is for learners aged 19 or over who are developing their English for everyday life, work or further training. Although it is listed at Beginner (A1) level, entry requires Level 1 Functional Skills English and completion of an initial assessment before enrolment.
