About this course
The course examines how UX/UI practitioners identify user needs, gather and evaluate information, structure content and develop design solutions. Topics include cognition and technology, user journeys, personas, user testing, expert evaluation, design thinking, wireframes, information architecture, accessibility, GDPR and privacy.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for improver-level learners completing an accredited, portfolio-based programme. Participants should be able to follow and discuss work in English, read written instructions, use a computer independently and manage files. Previous UX or design awareness is useful but not essential.
- Written English at approximately Level 2 GCSE or equivalent is expected.
- The course combines online teaching with in-person sessions.
- Learners are expected to complete portfolio tasks and self-directed work outside taught sessions.
- Regular attendance is expected, with at least 90% of sessions required.
Before you go
- Learners need access to a laptop or computer that can run Chrome efficiently.
- A good internet connection is required.
- Learners need a notebook for recording user research.
- Additional work is assigned outside class to develop the portfolio project.
