About this course
Participants draw from standing, sitting and reclining models while studying the proportions and volume of the human body. Exercises focus on representing form through line, tone, light and shadow, with opportunities to compare the different effects of pencil and charcoal. Teaching combines demonstrations and introductions to each session with individual guidance, regular feedback and brief group discussion. Work is completed in the studio, with optional practice outside class and encouragement to reflect on developing work.
