Life painting: build skills, technique and confidence

About this course

This practice-led course introduces life painting through observation of a human figure model. Participants explore proportion and simple composition, then develop paintings from initial studies. Teaching combines demonstrations, guided exercises and references to artists’ work, with time to experiment and review progress. Informal assessment is built into the practical activities. Sessions also include group discussion, ongoing tutor feedback and peer feedback, helping participants consider their work as it develops.
