About this course
Participants develop a capsule lingerie or swimwear collection by researching customers and markets, defining a retail position and refining a design concept. The course covers trend forecasting, colour palette development, design detailing, drawing approaches and range planning. Work combines independent study with group feedback, allowing ideas to be reviewed during the collection-building process. It is focused on design development rather than making: garment construction and pattern cutting are not included.
What you'll learn
- Develop a customer profile and suitable market position for a lingerie or swimwear collection
- Build a design concept informed by research, trends and colour direction
- Explore design details through drawing and visual development
- Plan a coordinated collection range
- Formulate a retail concept for a capsule collection
Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for improver-level learners developing beyond fundamental design skills. Participants should have some painting experience and be prepared to work both independently and within group feedback sessions. The emphasis is on collection design, not garment-making techniques.
