The course examines the variety of London’s urban landscapes, focusing on how participants can explore and respond to local people and places through drawing. Sessions take place out and about, making the surrounding city the subject of study. It is intended for artists, creatives and image-makers across a range of experience levels.

The course is designed for artists, creatives and image-makers at all levels, including beginners. Participation takes place out and about in London, so learners should be prepared to work in an outdoor setting.

Before you go

  • Participants need to bring their own paper and drawing materials.
  • Suggested materials include drawing pencils, Conté crayons, pastels, ink pens, coloured pencils, erasers, a pencil sharpener and a sketchbook.
  • A full materials list is provided one week before the course begins.
  • Appropriate clothing for wet weather is recommended.
