Log Cabin Quilt Block: 3-Day Workshop with Catherine-Marie Longtin

About this course

Participants will design and construct a Log Cabin sampler quilt top, working through the block’s basic construction method alongside fabric foundation piecing and the use of cornerstones. The workshop also introduces double-line, full-circle, quarter and three-quarter block variations. Teaching is combined with independent sewing time and individual feedback. The group will consider how framing and sashing connect the blocks, including composition and flow across the quilt top, with a stated aim of producing at least nine blocks.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is intended for confident machine stitchers with some basic sewing experience. Previous patchwork experience is not needed. As an improver-level course, it is aimed at learners developing beyond fundamental sewing techniques, with a combination of taught instruction and independent work.
