About this course
The course develops advanced Logic Pro techniques through practical workshops, exercises, lectures with audiovisual presentations, listening discussions, and group and individual projects. Topics include creative and corrective Flex Pitch and Flex Time editing, custom sample instruments, Smart Tempo, side-chaining, advanced routing and parallel processing. Participants also explore synthesis using LFOs and ADSR envelopes, alongside Smart Controls for workflow and sound-shaping applications.
What you'll learn
- Apply Flex Pitch and Flex Time to correct and creatively edit audio
- Build sample instruments with Quick Sampler, Sampler, Alchemy and Drum Machine Designer
- Use Smart Tempo to match audio and MIDI material
- Apply side-chaining and advanced routing, including VCA groups, sends and parallel processing
- Assign LFOs and ADSR envelopes to plugin parameters for deeper synthesis work
- Use Smart Controls to modify workflow and creative control
Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for Improver-level learners with experience equivalent to completing Logic: Intermediate. It involves practical workshops, listening discussions, lectures, and both collaborative and individual projects. Basic computer skills and file management are expected, while some experience using Apple computers is advantageous.
- Previous Logic Pro study or similar experience is expected
- Learners should have basic computer and file-management skills
- Work is completed through a mix of group and individual projects
Before you go
- Access to Logic Pro outside class is strongly recommended.
- High volume levels may occur; bringing earplugs to each lesson is strongly encouraged.
- Bring pen and paper for notes and a USB memory stick for saving work.
- Handouts and other materials are provided by the tutor.
