About this course
The course explores how separate improvised scenes can be connected into a multi-scene performance using recurring characters, relationships, themes and patterns. Participants work with long-form openings, monologues, sweep edits, swarm edits, cut-to’s, tags and tag-runs. Teaching covers scene-work, emotional escalation, character development and connections based on time, narrative, themes, games and characters. The course focuses on free-flowing formats rather than linear narrative structures, and introduces formats including Montage, La Ronde, Armando, Life & Times and Commando.
