Machine and Hand Embroidery for Art, Fashion and Interiors

About this course

Participants practise a range of hand embroidery stitches and variations, then learn to thread and use a sewing machine for freehand embroidery. Guided projects introduce different materials and textures, with demonstrations supporting the development of techniques for decorative work in art, fashion and interiors. The course also considers work by traditional and contemporary artists. Progress is reviewed through Personal Learning Plans, written notes, tutor feedback and regular discussions.
