About this course

The course introduces the tools, materials and safety procedures used in jewellery making before moving into basic metal forming, shaping and texturing. Participants explore jewellery components, including metals, gemstones and findings, and practise introductory soldering, chain making and bezel setting. Finishing and polishing techniques are also covered through practical project work. Learning is supported by tutor discussions, verbal feedback on classwork and Personal Learning Plans. Participants track their practice with written notes and tutor responses rather than completing a formal assessment.

Eligibility is limited to learners aged 19 or over.
