About this course
Participants learn to cut and shape wood and metal for modelling tools used with clay, wax or plaster. The course covers hand tools, studio machinery and safe working practices, with a demonstration of hardening and tempering steel for tool making. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations with guided practice, question-and-answer discussion, feedback and support as participants make their own tools.
