About this course

The course introduces fundamental mask techniques through exercises focusing on rhythm, timing, reactions, physical awareness and non-verbal communication. Participants work individually and in groups, using improvisations and scenarios to investigate how the body can communicate with an audience. They also develop a mask-based character by combining physical and emotional elements, then apply interactive techniques to keep the mask engaged during performance. Teaching includes practical exploration of different mask styles and the coordination involved in working with and without a mask.
