About this course

The course introduces foundational hand-tool woodworking, including how to hold, sharpen and maintain saws, planes and chisels for accurate cutting. Learners practise these techniques while working towards a traditional furniture project: a dovetailed cabinet with a drawer and a panelled door.

Before you go

• All tools and equipment used during the course are provided.
• Learners may bring their own tools if preferred.
• Learners who use reading glasses should bring them. The stated working distance for woodworking is approximately 400 to 500mm.
