About this course
The course examines Wes Anderson’s work as a writer-director through selected feature films and extracts. It considers his storytelling and directing methods alongside recurring aesthetic elements such as colour, nostalgia and production design, as well as techniques including whip pans, slow motion and aerial shots. Teaching combines tutor presentations, screenings, textual analysis and discussion. The course also considers Anderson’s close working relationships with recurring actors and crew, placing his career within modern American cinema.
