About this course
The workshop combines literary criticism with creative writing. Participants will read and discuss Annie Ernaux’s work, considering her style, historical context and ways of writing about memory, society and the self. Teaching includes short lectures, interactive presentations, group discussion, and individual and collaborative writing exercises. The later writing activities use prompts informed by Ernaux’s work and invite participants to develop passages that engage with these ideas while retaining their own writing voice.
