Maths Skills – Entry Level (E3/L1) – Data Handling

About this course

The course develops skills in collecting and using data, understanding basic probability, and extracting and interpreting statistical information. Teaching combines classroom instruction with activities, supported by online learning materials for study outside class. Progress is assessed through a folder of work and a Personal Learning Plan rather than an exam. Tutors set and mark tasks to gather evidence of development, while the course also introduces the content and expectations associated with later maths qualification study.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners with established Maths skills at Entry Level 3 and English skills at Level 1 across speaking, listening, reading and writing. A computer-based initial assessment may be used to check current levels. Participation involves completing tutor-set work and maintaining a Personal Learning Plan.
