About this course

Players rehearse and perform pieces selected by the tutor, with a focus on music by Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter and other modal jazz composers. Sessions examine how modes can inform melodic improvisation, phrasing and interaction within the jazz idiom, alongside ear-training activities. Regular tutor feedback helps participants refine their playing and understand their role within the ensemble.
