About this course

Participants create a pendant while exploring reticulation, a heating process that produces rippled and ridged textures on sterling silver. The workshop introduces piercing, reticulation and soldering through step-by-step guidance, with individual help from the jewellers during the session. Learners can experiment with the reticulation process to produce different pendant forms, including abstract moonscape textures and characterful faces.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is designed for complete beginners and does not require previous jewellery-making experience. It suits adults who want step-by-step guidance while making a necklace, with opportunities for one-to-one help from the jewellers during the group session.

• Participants must be aged 18 or over.

Before you go

• All tools and materials are provided.
• The standard result is a sterling-silver pendant on an 18-inch curb chain.
• Optional extras include longer chains, additional pendants, gold plating, gemstone setting and solid gold.
• Finished necklaces can usually be taken home on the day. Gold plating, stone setting, hallmarking, engraving and solid-gold services have a three-week lead time.
• A glass of Prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative is included.
