About this course

Participants explore reticulation, a jewellery-making process that uses sustained heating to form rippled and ridged surface textures. They are guided through piercing, reticulation and soldering techniques to make a pendant, with scope to experiment with different shapes and designs. Teaching is step by step, with one-to-one guidance from the jewellers available during the workshop. The pendant can be developed into forms ranging from abstract textured surfaces to face-like designs.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is designed for complete beginners and states that no previous jewellery-making experience is needed. It combines group teaching with opportunities for one-to-one guidance, and participants must be aged 18 or over.

Before you go

• All tools and materials are provided.
• The included piece is a pendant on an 18-inch curb chain.
• A glass of Prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative is included.
• Optional additions include longer chains, extra pendants, gold plating, gemstone setting and solid gold. Gold plating, stone setting, hallmarking, engraving and solid-gold services have a stated three-week lead time.
